Tech tips unveiled to boost producitivty
A group of entrepreneurs have discovered some handy technological tips to bring their business into the 21st century.
Hardeep Mahal, a former Apple trainer, recently met with around 20 business people at the Chesford Grange Hotel in Kenilworth, near Coventry, to demonstrate how business life can be made easier by using their iPad.
During the “Apple In An Hour” seminar, visitors were shown a variety of tips including how to use an iPad as a demo screen if demonstrating at exhibitions, automatically importing contact details by scanning a business card, and even applying hand signatures to a document without using a pen.
Other useful advice included how to use the device to carry out automated actions, and dictating notes while on the go.
Hardeep, who now runs his own business Auburn Digital after six years as an Apple trainer, said: “There is always going to be new technology out there as companies try to outdo one another, but it requires a new type of thinking for technology to really make a difference.
“While the iPad is now at the heart of many people’s home life, it is actually hidden with a plethora of useful features that can help businesses to save time and be more productive, it’s just taking the time to figure out which ones are really going to make a difference.
“Businesses can now save files without worrying about hard drive space, make notes by simply talking, sign off accounts digitally without a pen, and schedule automated actions at a desired time.”
The “Apple In An Hour” session was organised by Leamington-based chartered accountants and financial adviser firm Harrison Beale & Owen (HB&O), and was attended by the firm’s clients from across Warwickshire and the West Midlands.
Sarah Wilson, director at HB&O, said these types of sessions are put on to help businesses in a challenging environment.
“We are always on the lookout to host topical, engaging seminars that stretch far beyond the financial advice we provide, to give our clients a rounded view of the modern landscape that they are operating in.
“The internet and technology is now engrained in the heart of our culture, so we are keen to help businesses thrive in this fast-paced environment. We recently hosted a seminar around the do’s and don’ts of social media in the workplace before the “Apple In An Hour” seminar, and both have received encouraging feedback.”
