Kewill acquires US-based logistics software firm
Supply chain software firm Kewill has announced a new deal to acquire US transportation solutions company LeanLogistics.
The transaction to purchase LeanLogistics from its parent company, Brambles, represents a “huge step forward” for Manchester-headquartered Kewill, according to its president and COO Jim Hoefflin.
Doug Braun, Kewill’s CEO, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to have LeanLogistics join the Kewill team.
“Their solutions are feature rich, highly scalable and managed by a skilled team and we are excited to support the ongoing growth and investment in LeanLogistics’ platform.”
He added: “We believe our global platform will help accelerate LeanLogistics already impressive growth through leveraging our extensive European and Asian networks.”
LeanLogistics offers transport management services for shippers across Europe and the US, providing support for a network of more than 14k carriers and working to optimise over $10bn (£6.79bn) of annualised freight spend.
The company’s HQ in Holland, Michigan, is now Kewill’s largest office.
LeanLogistics’ president and CEO, Dan Dershem, said: “Our tenure with Brambles has provided us the opportunity to invest in our solution, expand into different countries, and has been a tremendous learning experience, but as we strive to deliver value for our customers every day, there is power in combining with a global supply chain execution company.
“The global transportation market is ready for a clear leader.”
