Digital rescue for Great North Air Ambulance Service
A FULL SERVICE digital agency is celebrating a 10 year relationship with a local charity after helping to develop its online presence and ongoing fundraising drive.
Geonet Solutions, which offers a range of digital services including web design development and search engine optimisation has been working with the Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) since 2006 to enhance its online vision and fundraising services.
Established in Darlington for almost twenty years, and with a satellite studio in York, Geonet Solutions boasts an impressive portfolio of global clients including Tees Valley Unlimited, Nifco and Subway.
Publically funded, the Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) based in Darlington, operates three helicopters, 365 days a year, across the North-East, North Yorkshire and Cumbria. GNAAS crews respond to around 1,000 call outs each year along with on-board aircraft specialist trauma doctors and paramedics, who bring accident and emergency expertise to the scene.
For the past ten years the agency has been enhancing the digital arm of the charity which has seen a number of digital developments since contracting the work to Geonet, including the build of a separate funding-raising site, Create & Donate to gather donations and profile fundraising events and a full restyle in 2015 to make the website fully responsive, without the need for a separate mobile site.
The agency has also recently developed a mobile app for the Great North Air Ambulance Service which will launch next month. Built on both iOS and Android platforms, the app is primarily created for Lottery fundraising which is a vital income stream for the charity.

Deborah Lewis-Bynoe, director of charity services at Great North Air Ambulance Services, said: “We rely on donations to survive, so we must make it as easy as possible for people to give in whatever way suits them. Whether it is a direct debit, a one off donation, or a pledge to run a marathon, we must make the supporter’s journey as seamless as possible.
“Our website also provides a medium through which our beneficiaries can learn more about our clinical care and provide feedback on their patient experience. Through providing a slick and stylish website, Geonet have enabled us to work towards these goals while helping us overcome the legislative and regulatory hurdles that we face as a charity.”
