North East entrepreneur shortlisted for prestigious Award

The CEO of Teesside based eCommerce agency Visualsoft, has made the shortlist for two prestigious titles at the North East and Yorkshire (IoD) Director of the Year Awards 2016.

The awards celebrate directors at the forefront of leadership excellence and the official shortlist for the region was revealed last week, with the news that Dean Benson of Visualsoft is in the running for the ‘North East Small Company Director of the Year’ award and the ‘North East Young Director of the Year’ award.

Following a successful MBO back in 2014, under the direction of Dean, Visualsoft has continued to grow year on year, with four UK offices in London, Manchester, Newcastle and Teesside, over 1100 clients and 223 members of staff. In the past two years alone, the company that specialises in offering digital solutions to retailers, has moved into a Google-esque 30,000 square foot Headquarters in Stockton-on-Tees, expanded with a new office in Manchester, launched the in house Innovation Lab and sister company Hive.HR, introduced an innovative approach to HR which has led to increased turnover and increased client satisfaction, and in March 2015 Visualsoft was crowned Company of the Year award at the North East Business Awards.

Dean spoke of the shortlist news saying, ‘I am thrilled to have made the regional shortlist for such a prestigious set of awards - it’s a fantastic achievement!

Visualsoft has been has been my life since 1998, but I couldn’t have achieved any of our significant milestones or accreditations without the help of our hardworking and dedicated workforce - they make Visualsoft what it is today, and I strongly believe that happy staff make happy clients.

We’ve come a long way since the start but have no plans to slow down any time soon, I am incredibly excited for what the future holds for our company!’

The winners will be crowned at the ceremony held at Leeds Civic Hall on 30th June 2016, hosted by broadcaster Danni Hewson. They will then go forward to the national IoD Director of the Year finals held in London in October.
