The deal will span the next six years

Lancashire-headquartered Daisy Group announces £70m partnership with BT

Communications and IT services firm Daisy Group has signed a multi-million pound partnership with telecoms giant BT.

The six-year deal, worth £70m, will give the Nelson-headquartered company and its customer base access to BT’s Wholesale Hosted Centrex (WHC) platform.

As part of the agreement, Daisy’s services will move over to BT’s WHC platform, which provides unified communications services hosted in the cloud rather than through the traditional private branch exchange (PBX) service, over the next 18 months.

Daisy Group CEO Neil Muller said: “We are committed to supporting our customers and partners as the business digitisation journey continues to unfold.

“Daisy provides its customers with end-to-end IT infrastructure and telecommunications services along with the expertise to maximise the latest technological developments.”

The collaboration with BT, Neil said, puts Daisy “at the forefront” when it comes to providing cloud solutions.

He continued: “I am hugely proud of Daisy’s relationship with BT and this is a perfect opportunity to further enhance our capability and provide our customers and partners with an industry-leading cloud solution.”

Daisy will be able to re-sell BT’s WHC platform services to Daisy Wholesale’s partners and via Daisy Retail direct.

The firm currently has more than 60k customers and around 1,500 resellers in this segment.

The CEO of BT Wholesale and Ventures, Gerry McQuade, commented: “Many businesses are now hosting their communication services using cloud technology to make them accessible to all, using any fixed or mobile device, at any time, wherever they might be.

“BT and Daisy Group have been pioneers of that trend, so I’m delighted that we’re coming together to bring customers a powerful combination of experience, scale and expertise.”

Gerry added: “We believe the rapid pace of change will continue over the coming years, and we’re looking forward to helping both Daisy and BT customers reap the benefits that change will bring.”
