Tottenham Hotspur announce another South Korean signing in Kumho deal

Premier League football club Tottenham Hotspur have announced a new tie-up with South Korean business Kumho Tyre.

The deal will see the Far Eastern tyre manufacturer become the club’s official tyre partner for the next two seasons from the start of the 2016/17 season.

Working in tandem with the club, Kumho will look to grow their brand in the UK through advertising at Spurs home matches and across its digital channels, and will also become a presenting partner for the club’s match day player mascot programme.

Community-led intiatives with Tottenham’s Foundation are also planned.

Following the announcement, Daniel Levy, Chairman of Tottenham Hotspur, said: “We are delighted to announce this partnership with Kumho Tyre.

“We look forward to collaborating with them on their brand and business objectives both here in the UK and globally in their key markets. We also greatly welcome their enthusiasm to support and work with our Foundation. “

Han-Seob Lee, President and CEO of Kumho Tire Co., Inc. added: “We are thrilled to be working with such a prestigious and globally renowned football club, and the partnership will provide us with the ideal platform to communicate with consumers across the world.

“We are particularly excited about our involvement with the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation and the opportunity to make a difference within the Club’s local community.”

The move is part of the club’s continued inroads into the South Korean market after it appointed Infiniss as its marketing manager in the country in May.

Following the signing of Korean international footballer and Asian Footballer of the Year Heung-Min Son from Bayer Leverkusen last year, the club’s South Korean fanbase has grown by over 30%.
