Leeds-based tailoring business to grow customer reach with launch of online store

Hemingway Tailors, the Leeds-based bespoke tailoring firm, is expanding the business with the launch of a new online store.

As part of the firm’s growth strategy, the unveiling of the online shop marks the official launch of Hemingway’s new ready-to-wear shirt line, a collection of 12 tailored shirts which are available in standard sizing.

The store also has a personalised made-to-order shirt offering, which enables standard sized shirts to be individually designed. By following the sites step-by-step consultation process, customers can choose from a variety of different fits, cuff and collar styles, sleeve lengths, pockets and monogramming options.

Initially focussed on menswear, HemingwayTailors.co.uk stocks a wide range of accessories including ties, cufflinks, silk handkerchiefs, dress wear and braces in addition to ready-to-wear and made-to-order shirts.

Although Hemingway Tailors’ bespoke and made to measure suit services remain focussed in Leeds, London, USA and Canada, the online store will expand Hemingway’s accessibility to consumers throughout the UK and abroad.

Toby Luper, managing director of Hemingway Tailors, said: “Launching Hemingway Tailors online is a natural step and I am thrilled that our plans have come to fruition.

“We have spent many years developing the company, refining our products and providing a high level of personal customer service and I believe that we are now at the perfect point to expand the business online. One of the key factors of our success to date has been the convenience of our visiting tailor service.

“Time is a luxury for many individuals today and our visiting tailor service has been a great solution for many of our discerning customers who struggle to find time to shop. Our move online perfectly complements our existing offering and will allow time-pressured customers to update their wardrobe whilst on the go.

“It will also enable us to widen our geographical reach and make the brand more available to people living outside of the Leeds and London areas.”

Plans to add a range of tailored ready to wear women’s clothing and accessories are also in the pipeline. Toby added: “We have noticed a real increase of female clients during the last few years and once our men’s collection is firmly established we plan to add womenswear to the online store.”
