Northumberland's Cleardata makes £1.5m investment to expand Welsh operations

Northumberland-headquartered document management firm Cleardata UK Ltd is expanding its Welsh operations with a £1.5m investment, supported by a £304k Property Development Grant.

Building new offices and warehouses on a 1.8 acre site at Hawarden Business Park in the Deeside Enterprise Zone, which it has acquired from the Welsh Government, the firm will create 18 new jobs adding to its 75-strong workforce.

Currently owning two archive storage and document scanning facilities at the Blyth Riverside Business Park, the business promotes a range of services to help organisations reduce costs and go paperless by transforming the way data comes in and out of their business.

The company offers outsourced document scanning, secure document storage with digital retrieval, outsourced mailroom, invoice processing services, cloud document management and mobile application development.

Work is well under way on building the new facility on Hawarden Business Park, which will include an 18,000 sq ft warehouse and 4,000 sq ft. office, and is being built to the same stringent specifications.

Gosforth-based RMT Accountants & Business Advisors is continuing to work with the Cleardata management team on the successful expansion strategy.

David Bryce, managing director at Cleardata, said: “Our company grew by 22% in 2015 and it is set to grow faster again this year after winning almost two million pounds of new contracts and attracting business from around the UK.

“In order to sustain this growth, we needed to create additional operational space and increase the capacity of our archive storage facility, and I am delighted we have been able to expand in Wales, creating inward investment into the region and further strengthening the company’s overall position.

“Cleardata’s growth has been fuelled by the move towards digitisation and the cloud, and

this expansion will support economic and employment growth through the creation of exciting new job opportunities within the area.

“The support and advice provided by the RMT team has been invaluable throughout this process, and we’re excited by the opportunities that our new facilities will present for future growth and customer acquisition.”

Anthony Andreasen, Director at RMT Accountants & Business Advisors, added: “The Cleardata management team has a very clear vision for the company’s future development, and we’re very pleased to work alongside the director in this exciting period.”
