Green light given for Newcastle Quayside boutique bar and hotel
Eldon Chambers, a Grade II-listed building on Newcastle Quayside, has been given the go ahead to bed transformed into a new boutique hotel, with bar and restaurant.
Recently being granted planning permission, the four storey building has only ever provided office space since its construction more than 180 years ago.
Newcastle-based interior designers Collective Design drew up designs for the successful application, showing how the ground floor could be taken up with the restaurant and bar, while upper floors would have rooms, many with views over the River Tyne.
Propery firm Bradley Hall, which is marketing the accommodation for lease, disclose that offers for the property are invited in the region of £195,000 per annum.
Bradley Hall has been marketing the empty building on behalf of its owners since law firm Blackett Hart & Pratt LLP left to move elsewhere.
The legal firm, which trades as BHP Law, quit the building during a major restructure which saw it relocate elsewhere in the city centre.
Neil Hart, managing director at Bradley Hall, said: “Eldon Chambers is a fabulous opportunity for a leisure operator.
“This is a beautiful building, with bags of character, that will make a perfect boutique hotel in a great city location.”
