Consultancy which helped EasyJet combat pilot fatigue has been acquired by Air Partner
Global aviation services firm Air Partner has acquired a specialist fatigue risk management consultancy which has worked with a who’s who of global aviation.
London-based Clockwork Research, which has worked with the likes of EasyJet, Virgin Atlantic and Air France, has been snapped up for an undisclosed sum and will now be incorporated into Air Partner’s consulting and training division.
Founded in 2005 by Paul Jackson and Alexandra Holmes, the consultants have developed a specialism in fatigue risk management, working with airlines and other industries including oil, gas and mining businesses, to identify and outline the impact of human fatigue in high-risk environments.
The firm reported revenues of £707k in its unaudited released in June.
Managing Director Dr Paul Jackson and Research Director Dr Alex Holmes said: “We founded Clockwork to help our clients manage fatigue risk by providing practical solutions, supported by high quality research.
“Eleven years later we have worked with over 50 airlines and provided training to many more. The whole Clockwork team is really excited to be joining the Air Partner group, which will enable us to enhance our offer to our clients and meet the increasing demand for our services we anticipate in the coming years.”
Following the deal, Clockwork will sit alongside Air Partner’s current risk management and safety business, Baines Simmons in its consulting and training arm.
Mark Briffa, Chief Executive of Air Partner, commented: “I am delighted to welcome Paul, Alexandra and the rest of the Clockwork Research team to Air Partner.
“Clockwork Research has a fantastic reputation in the specialist field of Fatigue Risk Management Systems and is well placed to work closely with Baines Simmons, our Aviation Safety Consulting & Training experts, enabling Air Partner to further enhance and extend the services and advice it offers its clients.”
