Launch of new startup guide to promote London as Europe’s foremost startup hotspot
Tomorrow (Thursday) marks the launch of the new Startup Guide London which looks to market the capital as Europe’s startup hotspot following the EU referendum.
Produced by content publisher StartupEverywhere.com in conjunction with innovation consultancy newmedia2.0, the new guide explores London’s startup landscape to help promote the city as an international destination for new firms.
Backed by the Department for International Trade (DIT) and the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, the startup guide includes a detailed look at London’s tech clusters, its network of accelerator programmes and includes interviews with founders from across the city’s ecosystem.
In the wake of Britain’s vote to leave the European Union, Khan has moved to protect the capital’s access to the continent’s brightest tech talent, with his #LondonIsOpen campaign part of efforts to ensure the city’s voice is heard in the impending exit negotiations.
In a foreword to the guide, Khan hails London as ‘a city of innovation’ and a ‘world leader in digital technology’.
He adds: “I’m passionate about supporting digital technology and innovation, and I am committed to doing everything that I can to share the message that London is Open with the world’s brightest minds and best ideas.
“We will do everything possible to help our tech sector to flourish, and I hope to see many more great tech companies and entrepreneurs coming to London to start and grow their businesses.”
Jeanette Carlsson, Chief Executive Officer of newmedia2.0 commented: “We work with startups and scaleups from the UK and internationally across the London startup ecosystem. They all need answers to the same questions. The Startup Guide London does exactly that.
“We hope that with this Guide we can help accelerate the process of setting up and growing a business in London.”
Launching tomorrow at the Future Cities Catapult Urban Innovation Centre in Clerkenwell, the guide will then be available to purchase through various international retail channels.
