VST Enterprises and Dewhirst to combat counterfeiting with POS tech deal
Cybersecurity firm VST Enterprises has entered into a joint venture with global fashion business Dewhirst.
The deal will see Dewhirst use Manchester-based VST Enterprises’ scannable code tech for clothing, footwear and accessories.
VApparel is used at the point of sale (POS) to allow for speedy purchasing and provide instant product information such as offers and promotions.
The technology also aims to cut the international circulation of counterfeit goods and make garments traceable.
VST Enterprises’ chief exec, Louis-James Davis, said: “Dewhirst has a predilection for value, ethics and innovation, and the partnership will bring this traditional but innovative fashion brand to the forefront of modern technology.
“Dewhirst is pioneering the use of this technology on wearable items across its international network and we plan to work together to use VApparel for many more applications in future.”
He added: “We are looking forward to defining new ways to apply the technology as our partnership evolves.”
The CEO of Dewhirst, Anthony Wood, commented: “VST Enterprises is one of the most innovative businesses that I have come across, and Louis is one of the most creative entrepreneurs that I have ever met.
“VApparel will revolutionise engagement with the customer pre- and post-purchase, across sectors and geographies, ensuring quality, safe, genuine fashion.”
Anthony continued: “Dewhirst is one of the largest and most forward-thinking private clothing companies in the world, so this partnership with VST Enterprises is set to be a perfect match.”
VST Enterprises and Dewhirst will roll VApparel out across international clothing and accessory brands to promote traceability and customer interaction.
