Laundrapp embarks on global expansion with ambitions to be world’s foremost on-demand laundry app
UK on-demand laundry business Laundrapp has announced its first moves into global markets ahead of full global expansion in 2017.
The London-headquartered app, which rolled out UK-wide last August, is launching its digital services in Australia and New Zealand this month, making the Australasian countries the first global markets that have licensed the firm’s door-to-door technology.
In a statement, the startup said it had ambitions to be the world’s ‘dominant’ on-demand laundry and dry cleaning service by the end of 2017, with plans to expand into 15 more global markets including Mexico, Turkey, Germany and China, amongst others.
Chief Executive and former Mind Candy Chief Marketing Officer, Edward Relf, commented: “The success in the UK carved an obvious path to global expansion and licensing our technology has proved the best way for us to reach a global audience.
“I am thrilled to see how receptive global partners have been to our technology, the industry understands it must innovate to grow and Laundrapp is the perfect technology to reach this new digital savvy millennial market.”
Founded by a team of high-profile entrepreneurs, including former Relf, Antony Pink of Accenture and Nick Bransby-Williams of recruitment platform Sooqini, the app closed a £5m funding round last summer.
