The White Company to double its footprint at Bluewater with new 'statement store'
Luxury lifestyle brand The White Company has unveiled details of its new ‘statement’ store at Bluewater which will see the retailer almost doubling its footprint at the shopping centre.
Due to open in the Spring, the brand is to move into a new 5,881 sq ft store at Bluewater’s lower Guildhall, offering a ‘bespoke space’ designed by its in-house team.
The new store, which will sit near to Hobbs, Russell & Bromley and Michael Kors, will evoke the lifestyle brand’s high-end look, which The White Company said will emphasise a ‘calm and inviting’ shopping experience.
Launched as a mail-order business in 1993 by founder Chrissie Rucker, the The White Company now has over 50 stores across the UK and has become one of the country’s most recognisable home and lifestyle brands.
Commenting on the new store, Sarah King, Director of Property at The White Company said: “Bluewater has long been a top-performing location for The White Company.
“Land Securities has worked closely with us to create a bespoke space that allows us to give Bluewater’s guests a true encapsulation of The White Company brand as a whole.”
Russell Loveland, Portfolio Director at Land Securities, which owns 30% of the shopping centre and acts as asset manager, added: “We have sustained demand from leading retailers to create statement stores at Bluewater that offer our guests the very best expression of their brand.
“The upsized flagship from The White Company is the latest example of this. The new store will embody everything the brand stands for and will be a significant addition to Bluewater’s own unique day-out experience.”
CBRE and Time Retail Partners acted for Bluewater. Space RPC represented The White Company.
