Oldham manufacturer James Briggs secures buyer for Premiere Products business
North West manufacturing firm James Briggs (Holdings) Limited has sold its Premiere Products business to one of the UK’s biggest independent cleaning product suppliers.
Family-owned Selden Research Limited acquired the brand with support during the due diligence process from Stockport-based corporate finance advisors Hallidays Group Ltd.
The deal is the company’s third acquisition in five years.
Buxton-headquartered Selden is confident the transaction will boost its UK market share and provide access to new export opportunities in the Middle and Far East.
Mark Woodhead, director at Selden, said: “Hallidays were fundamental in steering us through an intensive due diligence process during the strategic acquisition of Premiere Products.
“Whilst Selden was already well established in our industry, having acquired Jeyes Professional in 2012, we are delighted about the acquisition of Premiere Products to enable us to further increase market share.”
Hallidays director Paul Whitney commented: “Congratulations to everyone at Selden Research Limited.
“We are proud to have helped facilitate this acquisition and look forward to continuing to support Selden Research Limited with the Premiere business integration, financial forecasts and business plans to enable a seamless transition and their next phase of development and growth.”
The Hallidays team acting for Selden consisted of corporate finance director Paul Whitney and corporate finance executive Michael Berger, who worked closely with law firm SAS Daniels to ensure the acquisition proceeded smoothly.
Last summer, Oldham-based James Briggs Ltd reported a record turnover of £51m for the year ending June 31 2016, up £5.5m in comparison to the year previous.
