Twentysomething serial entrepreneur closes six-figure crowdfund for new proptech venture
Calum Brannan, the 27-year-old serial entrepreneur behind property management startup No Agent, is celebrating after his latest startup’s crowdfunding round overfunded by over £200k.
The London-based PropTech business, which has developed a platform that helps landlords let and manage their properties, raised just over £584k from 200 investors on crowdfunding platform Seedrs, way ahead of its initial target of £350k, and placing a £4.2m valuation on the business.
Crowd investors join the likes of Overture Europe founder and Swiftkey investor Nick Hynes as backers in the company, which also boasts former Propertyfinder.com chief Gillian Kent as the Chair of its board.
The PropTech firm is the latest venture from Brannan, who has been founding and growing businesses since he was 15, when he launched his own social network, followed by his CrowdControlHQ businesses which he founded when he was 19.
Speaking about his latest business, Brannan, who is a landlord himself, commented: “We are completely dedicated to shaking up the rental market and replacing the current function of letting agents.
“We know that by using the latest technology, we can drastically improve the experience for both landlords and tenants, so the fact that we hit our investment target in just five days highlights that other people not only believe this too, but are willing to put their money into it.”
No Agent will now use the latest funding to grow out its artificial intelligence (AI) technology, as well as bring more of its development efforts in house and scale its marketing push.
Brannan added: “These funds will enable us to further build our market share, find even more exciting ways to implement new technologies including artificial intelligence, shake up the rental sector, and continue to grow our team of experts.”
