Digital agency to surpass £3m turnover mark following Leeds city centre expansion
Engage Interactive, the Leeds-based digital agency, is on track to break the £3.2m turnover mark as it expands into a new 6,500 sq ft office in Munro House, Leeds city centre.
The agency, which is also celebrating its 10th year in business, reported a £2.88m turnover in 2016/17 - rising 8% from £2.65m in 2015/16.
Growth came from retaining all existing key accounts, including Leeds Building Society, Jet2, Yorkshire Tea, Whitbread and British Ceramic Tile, and an increased demand for its new pay-per-click advertising offering.
Engage was also recently named one of the fastest growing tech companies in the North by the GP Bullhound Tech North Awards.
Now with a 30-strong team, the agency has reached headcount capacity in its current office and invested over £400k to take over the whole first floor at Munro House, where it has been resident on the top floor for the last three years.
Engage has enlisted the help of Yorkshire commercial interiors specialist, Absolute, to deliver the new office scheme.
The expansion takes the agency from 2,600 sq ft to 6,500 sq ft, and will accommodate a further 10 staff it expects to hire in the coming financial year.
Alex Willcocks, one of the owners at Engage, explained: “The move is being driven by our plans for growth, but equally important is the opportunity it presents to create of one of the most exciting offices and working environments in Leeds.
“We’re designing the space for 40 people, which gives us a far greater sq ft / person quota than your average office, meaning we have areas for a kitchen, gym, bike workshop and multiple breakout areas. We hope to be in by July.”
Dave Wrightson, co-owner, added: “It’s an exciting time for Engage. We’re planting roots in the city for the next 10 years and investing in a long-term future in the area. The new office will help us attract the best talent, too.”
