Brothers Secure £100k of Growth Funding

Brothers, Ray and Jonathan Sherlock are celebrating today after securing £100k worth of investment to further support the ambitious expansion plans of their Manchester based social media and influencer agency, Engage Hub.

The pair have secured funds from the Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund to provide Engage Hub with the working capital needed to fast track its economic growth and productivity and propel the company forward to a world stage.

Engage Hub which established less than two years ago, is already valued at £1/2 million and employs 8 hyper connected young people who produce influential content, inspiring video and deliver peer to peer engagement and events

The team is highly skilled and Director of Operations, Jonathan Sherlock (31) is keen to grow it further.

“We have gone from strength to strength in the last 2 years. We’ve outgrown our processes, our offices and our start up client base. But we are hungry for more and won’t rest until we are firmly established as the North’s biggest and best social influence agency.”

On the back of its vibrant growth, the NPIF funding will help Engage Hub to deliver a disruptive new marketing strategy as well as creating 5 new jobs in Manchester and expanding into new offices in Manchester City centre.

James Darlington from NPIF says “We want to transform the Northern economy by backing business growth and giving entrepreneurial companies the power and resource to reach their full potential.

“Engage Hub is a great example of a business that has found a gap in a market they understand and has put together a compelling audience driven offering that is highly successful and constantly evolving”

Engage Hub started in the summer of 2015 after the brothers decided to turn what they knew about social marketing into a business dedicated to it.

Ray Sherlock (33) takes up the story. “My brother Jonathan and I started out at the kitchen table with a laptop louder than a jet engine and £300. Getting this support at this stage will catapult our growth.

We know that people are interacting with brands in totally new ways and we have developed products and services that are the cornerstone of cool.

Engage Hub is about interaction not interruption marketing and we shy away from the formulaic posting of content and instead drive real engagement that creates true brand advocates.

Now with this backing, we’re ready to take on the world of marketing and show a new way to engage in the socially active lifestyle, hospitality and leisure sectors.“
