Unique antibmicrobial cool bag is shortlisted for a leading industry award
An innovative cool bag designed by Staffordshire-based B&G Products is up for an industry leading award thanks to a unique twist.
Launched in 2016, the cool bag incorporates Biomaster technology, which gives the inside of the product an antimicrobial coating.
Biomaster enables surfaces to remain clean and hygienic whilst reducing the threat of cross-contamination caused by mixing raw meat and vegetables. The antimicrobial agent is incorporated into the bag during the manufacture process and lasts for the effective lifetime of the product.
The Biomaster cool bag which has a patent pending, is a reusable insulated shopping bag that can be used to transport frozen and chilled perishable food, safely.
After winning a host of new orders in Britain and Europe, the cool bag has been shortlisted in the Packaging News ‘Flexible Plastic Pack’ category from a record number of entries.
B&G manufacture two versions of the bag: a high performance three-layer insulated version keeps food cool for approximately four hours, while a high tech 2-layer version keeps food cool for approximately 1.5 hours.
Paul Morris, CEO and founder of Addmaster the company behind Biomaster, said: “The B&G cool bag is a perfect candidate for Biomaster protection to prevent harmful bacteria spreading from uncooked foods.
“The bag has been a huge success and is now stocked by Morrisons in the UK, Spar in the Netherlands, and major UK supplier Trunet Packaging Services.”
B&G commercial director Peter Ralten says: “Our cool bags contain high performance technology that inhibits cross contamination from bacteria during shopping trips.
“The stylish new insulated bags also have a fresh, newly updated design and feature a unique comfort clip close handle, also designed by B&G.”
