Tapas restaurant La Casita partners with North Star Coffee Roasters ahead of Leeds restaurant launch
Tapas restaurant La Casita has announced a new partnership with North Star Coffee Roasters ahead of the launch of its Leeds city centre restaurant in Granary Wharf.
North Star Coffee Roasters was established in 2013 as the first coffee roastery in Leeds.
Working with speciality coffee roaster Ollie Sears to gain an understanding of the different blends of coffee, La Casita has produced a new blend for its menu of Espresso Martini’s
La Casita’s Signature Espresso Martini menu will consist of five cocktails: Hazelnut, Chocolate Orange, Baileys, PX and Original – all using North Star’s ‘Dark Arches’ blend.
La Casita is set to open its fourth restaurant on November 17th following an investment of £250k. The Tapas restaurant already operates sites in Horsforth, Boston Spa and Ilkley.
The restaurant will serve traditional Andalusian tapas using authentic ingredients and Yorkshire produce for lunch and dinner, and will also have a bar offering specially selected local and Spanish drinks.
Simon Miller, co-owner and chef at La Casita, said: “With the different flavours on our new Espresso Martini menu it is necessary to pair them with the correct blend of coffee to make the cocktail something extra special – which is why we decided to call in the experts.
“North Star is dedicated to providing the highest quality of coffee working with producers all over the world, but they also ensure they continue a positive cycle of re-investment, innovation and sustainability, which was important to us.
“The blend we are working with is called the ‘Dark Arches’ due to its versatility – it’s coincidental that it takes its name from the Victorian subterranean space which formed the historic arches of the Leeds Railway Station at Granary Wharf, which is where we are now located – but perhaps fate had a hand!”
Ollie Sears from North Star Coffee Roasters, added: “To be able to collaborate with La Casita on its Espresso Martini menu is extremely exciting and takes our coffee blend to the next level.
“The trend for Espresso Martini’s is on the rise, so we jumped at the opportunity to introduce our ‘Dark Arches’ blend with La Casita – we’re looking forward to watching it take off!”
