Mazars named Sense Corporate Team of the Year
Mazars, the leading international accountancy and advisory firm, which has offices in Leicester and Nottingham, has been crowned the Sense Corporate Team of the Year after raising over £100,000 for the national charity which supports people with sensory disabilities or impairments.
Mazars staff from across the East Midlands offices recently took part on the ‘Sense 1000, powered by Mazars’ event - the firm’s first national cycling challenge. Taking place across 12 consecutive days, the challenge covered 1,000 miles. It started in Glasgow and passed through 15 offices to finish at Mazars’ London office by Tower Bridge.
Through cycling, volunteering and fundraising, over 200 Mazars staff were involved with the challenge. Partners and staff from the East Midlands office cycled one or more of the legs of the ride, including legs from Nottingham to Leicester and Leicester to Birmingham.
Funds raised through the event will be donated towards the charity’s work in local communities including TouchBase Pears, a pioneering new community centre in Birmingham that will provide specialist provision for disabled people in the region. A Sense ‘thank you evening’ and awards ceremony took place in Mazars’ London office on 19 January, to which Sense invited supporting firms and individuals who had completed a challenge in 2017. Seven awards were distributed.
Julian Clough at Mazars, said: “We’re delighted to receive the Corporate Team of the Year award, which recognises Sense’s corporate partner who has gone above and beyond with their support.
“It was an absolute honour to take part in the Sense 1000 challenge. Our entire staff really bought into the Sense 1000 challenge, and we thank the charity very much for recognising our effort, which we hope have gone some way to helping it continue its vital work in the East Midlands.”
