Manchester-based fire safety firm Olsson nabs Citu deal

Fire and risk consultancy Olsson has extended its tie-up with property developer Citu.

The Manchester-based company secured a repeat contract to advise Citu on the fire safety strategy for various regeneration projects in its Northern portfolio.

Citu’s work focuses on sustainability, with a view to accelerating society’s transition to zero carbon cities.

Its projects include Citu Home at the Climate Innovation District in Leeds. The £125m development, part of the wider South Bank Leeds regeneration plans, will create 520 new low carbon homes along with manufacturing space, leisure units, offices and climate-resilient public realm.

Olsson delivered a fire safety strategy for the three-storey, timber-framed Citu Home compex and the nearby two-storey Citu headquarters.

Olsson director Simon Lay said: “We are very proud of the great relationships that we have built with our like-minded clients across the property and construction market since we started up a few years back.

“From contractors to architects and developers we have been fortunate to work with some of the industry’s most pioneering businesses and people who are working hard to create sustainable spaces.”
