Europa Showfreight Celebrates Bumper Figures

Europa Showfreight, a division of leading logistics provider Europa Worldwide Group, is celebrating a double digit increase in figures, marking its best April results to date.

The Birmingham-based Showfreight team, which organises global delivery and collection to and from events and provides full on-site management for clients, has seen its best-ever results in April with an 11% increase in turnover, profits and consignments compared with the previous year.

Jeff Broom, Europa Showfreight Manager, said: “These latest figures are a great success for Europa Showfreight and represent a lot of hard work from the team. It’s been a very busy year so far and there is a lot more to come in 2018. Overseas interest in our services continues to grow and we’re looking at expanding our team to facilitate this growth.

“We’ve been appointed as the official freight forwarder for a number of high profile events, proving that we are thriving in a competitive market. One such event is ExpoElectronica 2018, an electronics and electronical goods exhibition in Moscow, where we shipped goods on behalf of our customer. The Russian market requires specialist knowledge for importing goods, particularly when it comes to events, which we can provide.”

Europa Showfreight, which is based at the company’s Birmingham site in Prologis Park, Midpoint Way, Minworth, was also once again appointed as the official freight forwarder for The Elite London, an exclusive showcase of the best in aviation, marine, cars and premium lifestyle products, at Wycombe Air Park this month. The division has also been appointed as the official freight forwarder for the Association of Stoma Care Nurses Conference and Exhibition, which takes places in Birmingham in September.

Europa Showfreight has recently managed logistics and project handling at a number of high profile shows and exhibitions all over the world, including Toy Fair in New York, Routes Asia in Brisbane, Glassman Latin America in Mexico and COTTM in Beijing.

As a member of the specialised network of Showfreight agents International Exhibition Logistics Association (IELA), Europa Showfreight has been involved with heading up a task force to re-evaluate the membership process for the organisation at meetings in Hong Kong, London and San Francisco.

These figures follow Europa’s recent announcement that the business is in its strongest position to date in its 50-year history. In the year ending 31st December 2017, turnover increased by 24% to £144m – a £28m increase on the previous year – while underlying net profit has increased to £3.2m from £1.1m in 2016.

As well as its specialist Showfreight division, Europa Worldwide Group provides services for Road, Air and Sea and Warehouse operations. The company employs 650 people across 12 sites in the UK plus Hong Kong and is represented in 100 countries.
