New Recruit Off to a Flying Start at Europa Showfreight

Europa Showfreight, a dedicated division of leading independent logistics provider Europa Worldwide Group, has strengthened its team with the appointment of a new Business Development Manager.

Jack Baxter, 19, is the newest recruit at the division’s Birmingham base in Prologis Park, Midpoint Way, Minworth. The youngest member of the team, he joins the business straight from sixth form after taking a year out to work and travel in Australia.

Jack’s role is to develop new business and focus on customer relationship management with new and existing clients. His appointment represents Europa’s commitment to further grow this specialist logistics service.

Jack said: “This is an exciting time to be joining Europa, which has an excellent reputation in the logistics industry. The culture is very positive and welcoming and I’ve had a fantastic start. I’m enjoying getting stuck into my role – getting to know our customers and bringing new business on board. It’s a great opportunity to contribute to the success of the division and grow revenues.

“Showfreight is a very interesting area of the business with a great deal of variety and unique challenges. I’m looking forward to gaining more experience of logistics solutions for worldwide exhibitions and events.”

It’s one of Europa ambitions to recruit additional enthusiastic and driven individuals to be trained and guided internally to become future leaders of the business. The goal is to appeal to ambitious people who are keen to learn, to hit the ground running and to start progressing up the career ladder from as early as 18 years old.

Showfreight Manager Jeff Broom, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Jack on board and I’m pleased to say he’s off to a flying start. There aren’t enough young people coming in to the exhibition side of the logistics industry so this is a very promising addition to our growing team. We’re always keen to bring in new talent and we’re passionate about creating opportunities for young people who don’t necessarily want to go down the route of a university degree.”

Europa Showfreight’s achievements this year include winning a number of high-profile contracts to manage logistics at shows and exhibitions all over the world, including: The Elite London; ExpoElectronica in Moscow; Toy Fair in New York; Routes Asia in Brisbane; Glassman Latin America in Mexico; and COTTM in Beijing. In July, Jeff was elected to the Board of Management of The International Exhibition Logistics Association (IELA).

As well as its specialist Showfreight division, Europa Worldwide Group provides services for Road, Air and Sea and Warehouse operations. The company employs 750 people across 14 sites in the UK plus Hong Kong and Belgium and is represented in 100 countries.
