Booking.com launch exclusive new property in London
The ’House of Sparkle’ recently opened its doors, revealing a four story, custom-designed townhouse styled with glitter, sequins and spectacular shimmer
Booking.com, the global leader in connecting travellers with the widest choice of incredible places to stay, teamed up with internationally renowned designer and sparkle champion, Christian Cowan, to create the world’s most sparkly townhouse, the ‘House of Sparkle’.
Opening its doors in the fashion hotspot of Soho in central London in early December, the House of Sparkle was designed for Booking.com by Christian Cowan who has famously dressed the likes of Beyoncé, Cardi B and Lady Gaga, and is renowned for bringing fun to the fashion world with copious amounts of colour, glitz and glamour.
“My designs typically feature a bit of cheeky humour mixed with a youthful take on how modern day women can dress - transforming them into something truly head-turning! Inspiration for House of Sparkle came from my latest collection featuring shimmer, drama and of course, glamour” says Christian Cowan, designer. “I’ve had so much fun collaborating with Booking.com on the townhouse design – this is the first time I’ve channeled my vision into an amazing place to stay.”
The House of Sparkle celebrated all that sparkles, embracing ebullience, opulence and shimmer – with a gold glittery frontage, black and white checkerboard glitter entrance hall and twisted glittery rainbow stairwell.
The lounge was dipped in pink glitter and the shower room featured blue glittery clouds with giant silver sequin rain installations. A curtain of metallic streamers lead guests into the master bedroom, to a party sparkly world of metallic piñata textures, disco balls and mirror details.
The house itself featured a variety of elements to tie into the glitter theme, allowing guests to feel truly immersed in the experience:
- The House of Sparkle was a 2,000 square foot townhouse full of glitter, shine and shimmer
- 100kgs of sustainable glitter were used in curating the townhouse
- 36,000 gold sequins were used to cover the exterior of the property
- Approximately 2 kilometres in length of metallic streamers adorned the interior walls
- 52,000 mirror ball facets featured in the disco party bedroom
Pepijn Rijvers, Chief Marketing Officer at Booking.com says: “The House of Sparkle is just one lavish example of the many unforgettable travel experiences customers can enjoy in the more than 5.7 million reported listings in vacation homes, apartments and other unique places to stay on Booking.com.”
