Online sales at Next rise over 15% as high street stores decline
High street retailer, Next has revealed a significant rise in online sales over the festive season.
Meanwhile, its store trading across the UK has unsurprisingly declined, falling by 9.2 per cent.
Online sales rose by 15.2 per cent from October 28 to December 29, 2018.
Next has said that the strong sales during the three weeks before Christmas - as well as sales in October half-term - had helped the blow of ‘disappointing’ sales in November.
The retailer is now expecting a lower annual profit of £723m, which has reduced from £727m. The retailer blamed the forecast shortage on major sales of items less valuable and expensive, such as beauty products.
