Outwrite kicks off 2019 with sports PR award shortlist

A North Wales-based digital PR agency has been shortlisted for a major industry award after running a successful sports PR campaign.

Outwrite PR’s work with British and Irish Eagles, a UK fan group for the National Football League’s (NFL) Philadelphia Eagles, is up for culture, media, sport, and travel marketing communications campaign of the year at the PRmoment Awards.

The agency was engaged to enhance the reputation of the fan club as part of its plans to introduce a paid membership scheme and become a leading UK brand for Philadelphia Eagles fans.

And Anthony Bullick, managing director of Outwrite, believes the team’s ability to react creatively in real-time helped the campaign stand out.

He said: “With the Eagles coming across to London to play their first regular season game, we identified that a boots on the ground strategy to react to events as they happened would work perfectly.

“Results included a live interview of the British Eagles’ founder on Fox 29 Philadelphia TV, behind the scenes access to the official pep rally, and Eagles legend Brent Celek featuring in the group’s social media content.

“This shortlisting illustrates our credibility as a sports PR agency, with many of our team having experience working in this sector.”

Outwrite’s London work followed the creation of a podcast for British Eagles, which has featured interviews with NFL journalists, members of the current Eagles roster, and Philadelphia Eagles’ senior vice president of marketing and media Jennifer Kavanagh.

In 2018, the agency liaised with BBC Radio Five Live and Eurosport to set up interviews with a fan club member who flew to Minnesota to watch the Eagles defeat the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl.

Outwrite’s clients include Active Cheshire, UK-wide engineering, environmental, and planning consultancy Caulmert, and Ruthin-based Jones Bros Civil Engineering UK.

The agency specialises in integrated PR and SEO (search engine optimisation), crisis PR, and social media training.
