Manchester-based Distec partners with Pepperl+Fuchs ecom
Distec, a specialist provider of industrial, medical and digital technology solutions, is set to expand its offering to industries working in hazardous conditions through its partnership with mobile device manufacturer Pepperl+Fuchs ecom.
This will enable organisations operating in aerospace, biogas, chemicals, mining and oil and gas to have access to non-combustible technology solutions that will provide better mobility, digital transformation and improved safety for workers.
As every industry is looking towards digital transformation in particular, the need for remote working, IoT and more intelligent technology systems is vital for organisations working in dangerous conditions. The reliability and usability of technology for communication between workers is an essential safety factor in these environments, which is why Pepperl+Fuchs ecom’s offerings cover ‘lone worker protection’, which maximises the safety for individuals who may be working in these conditions alone.
The announcement brings ATEX certified products to Distec’s portfolio and also comes off the back of Pepperl+Fuchs ecom being recognised as the number one provider of explosion proof tablets and cellular devices for hazardous areas by German magazine PROCESS.
The partnership with Pepperl+Fuchs ecom fits Distec’s mission as they endeavour to work with industry-leading vendors to provide customers with world-class technology solutions, which help to reduce downtime and costs, whilst ensuring a safe working environment.
Commenting on the partnership, Noel Sheppard, General Manager of Distec said “As digital transformation drives the fourth industrial revolution our partnership with Pepperl+Fuchs ecom means our customers can embrace industrial mobility in hazardous areas, drive efficiencies and protect the safety of their lone workers.”
