Full occupancy at Number Two leaves just one to go at Orbit's City Approach scheme in Eccles

A sustained programme of refurbishment and proactive tailoring of suite sizes to meet market demand at Orbit’s City Approach office scheme in Eccles has delivered full occupancy in less than 24 months at 2 City Approach.

The former Orbit and Emerson House offices on Albert Street in Eccles were successfully rebranded by Orbit in 2017, to become 1 and 2 City Approach.

2 City Approach reached full occupancy in quarter one this year after a spate of transactions totalling 18,000sq feet over the last 24 months.

The same approach to refurbishment is well underway at 1 City Approach which is now seeing similar levels of interest with a floor and half let already.

Marine engineering company SRO Solutions were one of the early occupiers in 2 City Approach. Managing Director Tony Lackey said: “Eccles is a fantastic location. We are right on the M602 which gives us a direct route into Manchester city centre as well as connections to the M60 and M62. And the biggest benefit is that we don’t have to sit in traffic jams getting into the city centre every morning.”

Peter Rushton, Managing Director of The Accounts Co agreed. His business moved into 2 City Approach last year. He commented: “Salford and the Eccles area are increasingly vibrant areas to live, work and do business. The emergence of Media City and Salford Quays as powerhouses of creativity and commerce make City Approach an ideal place to base our business as they’re right on our doorstep.”

He continued: “The location of City Approach, is exactly that. It’s a gateway into the city and is convenient and easily reached via most transport links. There’s ample and cost-effective parking for our staff and clients too, so it was the obvious choice.”

Dean Richards, Leasing Director at Orbit Developments, commented: “The City Approach scheme has become a viable alternative business location to Salford, MediaCity and indeed the city centre for a range of companies from small businesses employing 1-2 people up to large enterprises of 250. We are delighted with progress.”

He added: “In the last two years we have built on a good basic level of specification - all offices have air-conditioning for example - and we have invested in a comprehensive remodelling of the reception areas and opened new facilities on site. The Coffee Lounge has been a big hit, providing an area for our customers to meet, relax and use the free Wi-Fi. A conference suite is the latest addition which provides a high quality and professional space that can accommodate up to 50 people.”
