BLJ Solicitors Attracts New Talent as Part of Team Growth

Bell Lamb & Joynson Solicitors continues to attract legal talent to support its growing business.

Following a busy year for recruitment, the North West law firm has welcomed a further five members of staff since November 2019, bringing annual growth of the team up by 122% with a total of 52 employees across its Liverpool and Runcorn branches.

As part of a company-wide strategy to implement modern working practices and keep staff wellbeing at the forefront, BLJ Solicitors is a leading employer in its field, adopting new technologies to streamline processes and aid internal and external communication.

Managing Partner at BLJ Solicitors Mike Leeman said: “We’re delighted to have recently welcomed into the team five additional members in areas such as conveyancing, family law and commercial law. Having experienced incredible growth in terms of the volume of work across all departments, we need to match this demand with resource and have increased the size our workforce accordingly to ensure that we can uphold our reputation as a client-centric firm, with customer care at the heart of everything that we do.

“Recruiting within the legal sector can be difficult in this current economic climate but we feel that our focus on staff wellbeing and our dedication to professional and personal development really sets us apart and has enabled us to hire incredibly skilled and passionate employees that we’re sure will contribute to our continued growth as we head towards our 200th year in business in 2021. We’ve always encouraged our team, no matter their level, to get involved in managerial decisions and play a part in discussions about the direction of the business and this approach has really been integral to our success. With this in mind, it’s been great to welcome in a number of young professionals who are eager to enhance their careers with our help.”

BLJ Solicitors is a multi-award-winning firm that currently deals with over 4,000 matters annually, working with clients from across the region and further afield in criminal law, conveyancing, wills, probate, family law and personal injury to name just a few.

Mike added: “At the end of our last business year, we had reported company growth of 27%. With this in mind, we’re already recruiting for two additional positions including a family solicitor and conveyancing fee earner with plans to expand again in the new year.

“We recently welcomed Terry Otty to the team as a commercial litigator and as an experienced solicitor in this field, we are confident that he will be instrumental in helping us to establish this area as a department in its own right to complement our current private client work. We’re pleased to say that 2020 is shaping up to be our busiest year yet.”
