North East print company triples office space in bid to reach £12m turnover

A North East print specialist has tripled in size with a move to Gosforth as part of its plan to increase its £6m turnover to £12m by 2025.

Document Solutions UK, who also specialise in photocopiers, have moved to a 15,000 sq ft warehouse and office space at Baker’s Yard in Gosforth.

They are the third tenant to move into new premises at the Baker’s Yard development which is being carried out by Newcastle-based property business, Adderstone Group.

On top of photocopiers and print, the new premises will enable the Document Solutions team to focus further on telecoms and IT packages including hardware and software, infrastructure support and security solutions.

David Macartney, director of Document Solutions UK, commented: “We have set ourselves ambitious financial targets and this move is designed with further growth in mind.

“Our targets are to double our £6m turnover in the next 5 years and this new space will enable us to enhance our offering to many clients and customers.”

Andy Bolton, the company’s service director, added: “This move is significant for us. We can now consolidate our storage, call centre and showrooms into the Gosforth HQ which will support our facilities in Teesside and Yorkshire.

“Basically, this additional space will mean that we can buy equipment at a better price, store it more efficiently and pass on the benefits plus efficiencies to our customers and clients.”

Andy Kahn, managing director of Adderstone Estates said: “Dave and his two business partners started Document Solutions in 2010 in a hybrid unit at our Quay West Business Park in Sunderland.

“They now support thousands of businesses throughout the north of England. This is the fourth lease we have negotiated with them and it’s great to have played a supporting role in such a great local success story.”
