Demand for self-storage increases by a quarter since lockdown is eased
Since lockdown restrictions started to ease in the UK, demand for self-storage solutions has increased with more people discovering the need to clear their properties and store their belongings in a safe and trusted location.
easyStorage, which offers a no-frills approach to self-storage, reports that enquiries have surged by a quarter (25 per cent) month-on-month since lockdown restrictions were reduced, as some have needed to clear a room to make space for a home office, while others used the time to clean out their clutter. A number of house moves were also put on hold and since these resumed in May, homeowners are once again moving and requiring storage solutions. Sadly, marriage/couple separations and deaths may have also played a part in the rise in demand.
Tim Slesinger, CEO of easyStorage, said: “The national lockdown gave us more time at home than ever before. A lot of us used this to make home improvements, which often resulted in the need for additional storage space. As soon as lockdown restrictions started to ease, we saw a quick upturn in enquiries across all of our 25 easyStorage locations in the UK, as people sought a reasonably priced self-storage solution.”
easyStorage, part of the easy family of brands founded by Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou, promises affordable self-storage, up to half the price of traditional set-ups. Unlike traditional self-storage, easyStorage brings easyPods to customers’ doors, where they are loaded and transported to an easyStorage secure facility. By using pods, they can be stacked high and deep for maximum efficiency, without wasting valuable real estate. With better space utilisation, easyStorage is able to store more in each depot facility and pass the savings it makes onto its customers.
In addition, through easyStorage’s collection and return service, customers don’t have to lift a finger, offering unrivalled convenience and customer service not found elsewhere in the storage market. Customers can also access their items whenever required while in an easyStorage facility, with their easyPods transferred to a viewing area.
easyStorage is proud to be the only UK storage company to offer online booking with fixed pricing.
Slesinger continued: “At easyStorage, we’re changing the way self-storage works. Customers no longer have to spend hours packing their valuable items into cars and vans, to then unpack them into a storage unit. We go direct to our customers doors and load their items into our bespoke pods, saving them time and money. This has and continues to be a popular benefit, as people are more mindful about not making unnecessary trips. We understand this is more important than ever at the moment, as customers seek greater value without comprising on service.”
Using the latest technology to provide the best customer experience possible, easyStorage is proud to boast a high Trustpilot rating of 4.8/5, as well as one of the highest Net Promoter Scores in the industry of 88. Through its high customer satisfaction rates and unique approach to simplify the storage industry, by making it more efficient and cheaper, easyStorage continues to rapidly expand its customer base throughout the UK.
