TapSimple supports Lidl GBs fundraising efforts for NSPCC

Feel-good fundraising platform TapSimple, whose products include the Clip, a Contactless and Chip & PIN device, is delighted to announce it will be supporting Lidl GB’s fundraising efforts for the NSPCC, by supplying the retailer with Clips to help make raising funds easier and safer during the pandemic.

The Clips are being placed in 13 of Lidl’s Regional Distribution Centres to help colleagues raise funds for the supermarket chain’s charity partner, NSPCC.

At a time when the COVID-19 pandemic has significantly impacted the third sector, the placement of TapSimple’s Contactless and Chip & PIN devices in Lidl’s centres will make it significantly easier for donors to give to the NSPCC. Contributions made through TapSimple also give donors the unique option to add Gift Aid, unlocking an extra 25 per cent of donations for the charity.

This announcement comes in the wake of TapSimple’s rapid growth; founded in 2018 by Alex Coleridge and Tom Montague, the start-up is a proud Trusted Supplier of the National Council for Voluntary Organisations and already supports major UK charities such as Macmillan, the NSPCC, Children with Cancer UK and Christian Aid. By making TapSimple’s contactless devices available in Lidl, a whole new way of giving will be opened up, giving the charity a much needed boost.

About the collaboration, Alex Coleridge, Co-Founder of TapSimple, commented: “We are thrilled to be supporting a household name like Lidl to raise funds for the wonderful charity that is the NSPCC. It is brilliant to see the NSPCC and Lidl embracing technological innovation to make charitable giving more accessible, which is vital given the continued decline of cash and rise of cashless payments, combined with the impact of a global pandemic. With this in mind, we are proud to be using our service to empower even more charitable giving.”

Mark Newbold, Senior CSR Manager at Lidl GB said: “We are pleased that with the support of TapSimple, we are now able to provide innovative new ways for us to raise much needed donations for our partnered charity, the NSPCC. Over the last three years, our colleagues and customers have done an amazing job raising a massive £3 million to support the charity’s work and despite the unprecedented challenges we have experienced in 2020, we are proud that our fundraising efforts will not be negatively impacted in the future.”

Kirsty Lawson, NSPCC Associate Head of Corporate Partnerships commented: “With 90% of our funding coming from supporters, the current pandemic has increased our urgency to find immediate and sustainable fundraising solutions.

“By partnering with TapSimple through our existing relationship with Lidl we are hopeful this fundraising platform will help customers and colleagues continue to support the charity to still be here for children.”
