Sheards Accountancy shortlisted for two Yorkshire Accountancy Awards
Huddersfield Chartered Accountancy practice, Sheards Accountancy have been named as finalists for two award categories. They have been shortlisted for “The best employer” and the “Independent firm of the year” categories at the Yorkshire Accountancy Awards.
The Yorkshire Accountancy Awards celebrates the achievements and successes from the region’s best and brightest. 45 firms and businesses feature in 21 categories designed to recognise the contributions of Yorkshire’s leading accountants, auditors and advisors.
The independent judging panel for the awards, led by Les Bradley of the AIA, evaluated entries and shared a shortlist of finalists that reflects the talent, commitment and dedication of the accountancy profession in the region.
Sheards Accountancy was founded in 1903 and in the last 12 months, two directors celebrated a combined service of 65 years. Carolyn Atkinson celebrated her 35th year with the firm this year and Kevin Winterburn also recently celebrated his 30th work anniversary.
For the best employer category, finalists showcased training initiatives and accreditations received, dedication to development and welfare of staff, jobs created in the region and recognition from staff and training providers.
Entries for the independent firm of the year were asked to demonstrate client appreciation, client initiatives which set them apart from competitors, contribution to the business community and recognition from other firms. Sheards Accountancy is one of eight firms shortlisted in this category.
Commenting on the announcement, Kevin Winterburn, director at Sheards Accountancy said: “We are over the moon to be shortlisted for not one but two awards at this year’s Yorkshire Accountancy Awards.
“2020 has been a difficult year for many and although this year’s ceremony will be broadcast virtually, we are excited to be able to celebrate the hardwork and success we have seen in the past 12 months delivering important services to all of our clients.”
The winners will be announced during a pre-recorded broadcast at 7pm on 3rd December exclusively via the Yorkshire Accountancy Awards website. Registration is needed to watch the ceremony on the day.
