Events Software Provider helps take UK Construction Week virtual

The UK’s largest built environment event, UK Construction Week, has celebrated the success of its first virtual exhibition, after enlisting the help of award-winning events software provider, VenuIQ.

The event, which was due to take place at the Birmingham’s NEC between 5th - 7th October 2020, was switched to a virtual format as a result of the COVID-19 restrictions, and, with the support of VenuIQ, provided attendees with an immersive event experience.

With all content, sponsors and exhibitors available to attendees online, the virtual UK Construction Week consisted of five key content streams, whilst providing delegates with the opportunity to network via video meetings and learn from industry leaders via virtual seminars and workshops.

Nathan Garnett, Director of Media 10 Ltd said: “We spent a long time looking for the right platform to put UKCW onto and ended up coming to VenuIQ with quite a short lead time for staging a 5-day event with over 100 hours of content, key sponsors and 30 exhibitors.

“However, the team worked with us on our last-minute demands to deliver an event with very few hitches and we have since received some great feedback and have also grown our audience with thousands of new contacts. Attendees also benefitted from a keynote speech from former Construction Minister, Nadhim Zahawi, together with the launch of several new industry initiatives, which also helped to soften the blow of not being together at the NEC.”

Oliver Rowe, co-founder of VenuIQ added: “The challenge for organisers in pivoting to a virtual event is to do something which still delivers value for sponsors and engages both speakers and attendees, without the need to resort to silly gimmicks or avatars.

The level of engagement and positive feedback received for UK Construction Week is evidence that virtual events can be as successful as those that take place in an exhibition hall, with the same level of content, education and networking opportunities delivered, as long as the right technology is put in place.“

Headquartered in the West Midlands, VenuIQ offer customers an easy-to-use platform that enables businesses to build and publish their own branded native apps and web portals from a browser for events, with features such as tracking, polls, Q&As and event registrations integrated to create an immersive virtual event experience.    The company boasts a wealth of experience in implementing and developing new technology to allow businesses to offer a greater event experience and has helped hundreds of organisations ‘pivot’ their event online since the outbreak of COVID-19.
