Boost for 'historic' Northumberland village as six-figure investment drives new homes

A North East property developer has announced that it has received a six-figure investment for new homes in a ‘historic’ Northumberland village.

Cockburn Developments, based in Berwick Upon Tweed, has secured the funding from FW Capital, which manages the North East Property Fund.

The funding will be used to build three new properties on the outskirts of the village of Branxton, Northumberland, the site of the Battle of Flodden.

The scheme, known as Stanley Court, will transform the site - an overgrown former builder’s yard - and create one job, safeguarding a further three.

Stewart Cockburn, director of Cockburn Developments, commented: “FW Capital shared our ambitions for this project and was able to quickly provide the funding needed to facilitate this development.

“Our aspiration was to create a high-quality development of homes in this beautiful Northumberland village. The site has already benefitted from huge off plan interest due to its location on the edge of the Northumberland National Park, an area of outstanding natural beauty.

“Stanley Court will hugely improve the first impression of visitors to the village and provide much-needed family homes for many years to come.”
