Purple Positioned In New Gartner® Report

Purple provides venue intelligence software across sectors including healthcare, retail and hospitality.

Purple, a Manchester-based technology company, has been recognised in a new report* from US-based company, Gartner®.

Purple specialises in transforming venues worldwide into intelligent spaces through software including guest WiFi, digital wayfinding and analytics. Its technology enables venues across the healthcare, retail and hospitality sectors to enhance the visitor experience, optimise safety and ultimately drive revenue.

In a highly-anticipated report on global indoor location services, Purple has been named as a Niche Player in the industry for its ability to execute and completeness of vision.

The publication of the ‘2022 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Indoor Location Services’ report was the culmination of rigorous, fact-based research by Gartner®. Industry providers are positioned by Gartner® in one of four quadrants: Leaders, Challengers, Visionaries and Niche Players.

The stringent evaluation by Gartner® is based on specific criteria that analyses the company’s overall vision and ability to execute that vision.

Purple was established in 2012 to provide custom WiFi solutions for businesses. Backed by Sir Terry Leahy, former CEO of Tesco, the company embarked upon a rapid growth trajectory in 2015 and now provides a cloud-based tool that transforms venues across the US, Europe, LATAM and EMEA into highly intuitive, agile spaces.

Gavin Wheeldon, Chief Executive of Purple, commented: “We believe our position as a niche player in this Gartner® report is the culmination of a decade of innovation. Plus an unwavering belief in the power of technology to transform venues into intelligent spaces - for the benefit of both visitors and businesses.

“We were established in 2012 having identified a growing frustration at largely poor guest wifi experiences in a variety of public venues, whether that be shopping centres, stadiums, hospitals or hotels. We set out to build a guest wifi system that was end-user friendly and arrived at a cloud-based tool that transforms venues into intuitive, agile spaces. Our software enables our venue partners across the world to not only survive but actually thrive amidst ever-changing economic climates.”
