Work underway to enhance event and meeting experience at Coventry Building Society Arena

Work is underway to enhance the event and meeting experience at Coventry Building Society Arena as part of significant investment being made across the venue.

Thousands of people visit the multi-purpose venue every month, with nearly 1 million visitors in 2022, and internal work is underway to improve the experience for visitors.

The front entrance to the leading sport, conference, music and exhibition venue is set to receive a revamp, following on from the opening of the south pavilion entrance last year, and the venue atrium which acts as one of the main routes to the state-of-the-art conference and exhibition facilities has already been refreshed with new colours and branding.

The main boardroom at the venue has been transformed and now features branding from new owners Frasers Group. The boardroom, which has a view of the stadium’s pitch, has been re-designed and equipped with the latest audio-visual technology.

Work is ongoing to enhance other meeting rooms around the venues and bring those spaces in line with the standards set in the boardroom.

Coventry Building Society Arena also features three offices for event organisers around the venue and two of those offices are set for refurbishment. The offices will be made more comfortable for event organisers, with new furniture, lighting and decoration.

Occupancy rates soared 28 per cent last year at the onsite Doubletree by Hilton Hotel, which opened in 2015. The hotel is set to be freshly decorated throughout in the coming months as part of the wider renovation works.

The hotel lobby will be decorated, while the hotel reception will also be given a new look and retiled. Guests to the hotels will find redecorated rooms and refreshed bathrooms, while there will also be new carpets in the guest stairwells and corridors throughout will be transformed.

In preparation for the summer, improvements are being made into the hotel air conditioning system and plans are in place to invest in a new system in spring 2023.

New flooring is also being installed in the hotel restaurant, with the restaurant also undergoing a full redecoration.

The plans come as the venue continues to move forward in a new era under its new ownership.

It is the first round of enhancements set to come to the Arena in the coming year as the venue seeks to further establish itself as a modern, flexible and market leading facility with a focus on visitor experience.

Paul Michael, Commercial Director at Coventry Building Society Arena, said: “We’re seeking to make a wide range of improvements around the venue over the next 12 months, with the goal of enhancing the experience for visitors and customers who host their events with us.

“Since we rebranded two years ago, the arena has undergone a major transformation and the latest work to freshen up our look is a continuation of that.

“Each year thousands of people visit us for events and choose to stay in our onsite Doubletree by Hilton Hotel. It’s important that the hotel reflects the modern and sector-leading nature of the wider venue, and we are confident the work being done across the hotel will further improve the experience of guests.

“We’re set for a very exciting 12 months at the venue, with stadium concert show, major exhibitions and conferences, and showpiece sport events, and by making improvements across the venue we will further enrich the experience visitors and event organisers have at Coventry Building Society Arena.”
