A business advisory firm has strengthened its team with eight appointments.

Ryecroft Glenton has added audit seniors Vashenka Naidoo and Anton Vassilounis. 

It has also welcomed graduate trainees Emily Halsall and James Bell to its accounts department, and Jake Macintosh and Connor Priest to its audit team. 

Trainees Stephanie Roots and Alex Shipsey have joined the firm’s accounts and agriculture teams, respectively.

One of the North East's leading independent financial planning firms has expanded its client offer with two new appointments. 

Stockton on Tees-based Active Chartered Financial Planners has hired Leanne Rogers, a former pastry chef with three years of financial planning experience, and Tom Walton, an accounting and finance graduate.

BNP Paribas Real Estate, part of global financial services firm BNP Paribas Group, has strengthened its growing Newcastle office with graduate surveyor hires.

Jess Venters and Patrick Darroch have been appointed as graduate surveyors.

Aidan Baker, senior director and head of Newcastle office said: “As our office continues to grow, Jess and Patrick will play a crucial role in supporting our clients, ensuring we continue to deliver high-level service while expanding our market reach and maintaining our high standards of client service.”


An occupational safety and health training and consultancy has announced a new office manager.

North Tyneside-based Carney Consultancy has promoted Louise Dark, who joined the firm in 2020, from her current role of client liaison advisor.

Louise said: “Becoming office manager felt like a very natural progression for me. I have a strong understanding of training and development and I am passionate about supporting the whole team.”

Managing director Angela Carney added: “Louise’s promotion is fully deserved, she is a passionate and supportive team player and becoming office manager reflects her journey with the company.”


One of the largest family-owned construction, infrastructure and support services businesses in the UK has appointed a new regional managing director to its North East arm. 

Gateshead-based Robertson Construction North East has promoted Neil Kennedy, who has been with the company for 15 years, to regional managing director following the retirement of Garry Hope.

Neil said: “It’s an honour to take on the managing director role from Garry. I share his keen focus on building relationships with our clients and supply chain partners, and look forward to continuing to grow the business and deliver for our customers.”

Brian McQuade, chief operating officer of Robertson Group, added: “To follow Garry, who was so well known and respected by colleagues and the industry alike, is no mean feat but I know that Neil is absolutely the right person for the role. He sets the personal and professional standards that others wish to follow.

“I look forward to seeing Construction North East continue to prosper under his leadership and congratulate him in his new role.”


A fair trade financial co-operative has announced the appointment of a new finance director designate.

Newcastle-based Shared Interest has appointed Jo Powell to replace long-serving finance director and company secretary Tim Morgan, who is preparing for his planned retirement.

Jo said: “I’m excited to continue the incredible work Shared Interest has done to promote sustainability, fairness, and social responsibility..”

Tim said: “It has been an honour to help steer Shared Interest through some of the most challenging global events. I’m proud of what we have achieved, especially the growth of our Share Capital and the innovations we have introduced.”

A pool and spa engineering consultant has made a key appointment to its management team.

James Coombes has been appointed as the new operations manager at North Shields-based Devin Consulting, having excelled as a senior project manager.

Managing director Colin Dougall said: “We are delighted that James has agreed to join the management team at Devin. 

“His experience and drive will be a big asset in the development of our pool and spa business.”
