Definition strengthens board with new chair
Leeds-based brand, marketing, and communications specialist Definition has appointed Jaywing founder Martin Boddy as chair, alongside a series of key promotions to drive its next phase of growth.
Martin, a seasoned leader in agency growth and M&A, brings two decades of experience in data-driven transformation. He currently chairs Dark Matter Commerce, Money Alive and GPlants.
Martin said: “Definition has already established itself as one of the UK’s most exciting independent agencies, having acquired a series of highly specialist consultancies who bring brands to life - inside and outside organisations.
“I can't wait to get cracking with the talented team to drive the business forward and explore new opportunities.”
The board has also been bolstered with Rachel Griffin and Louise Vaughan promoted to co-CEOs, while Katy Bloomfield and Jennie Gerry step up as managing partners for PR and brand. Jennie will lead the agency’s new integrated brand practice, working alongside creative lead Neil Taylor.
Louise added: “Appointing someone of Martin’s calibre as our new chair not only underlines how far we’ve come on our growth journey, but also the ambition that drives us.
“Martin’s expertise, combined with our newly strengthened board, positions us perfectly to capitalise on the specialisms we have across brand, marketing and comms, as well as to develop integrated products and services that deliver unforgettable impact for our clients.”
These changes come as Definition continues its expansion, securing 50 new clients in 2024, including Amazon, Campari, Orange, Save the Children and The NEC.
The firm has also pioneered a multi-platform AI suite, helping global clients enhance the speed and impact of their marketing operations.
