All-female financial firm wins business award
An all-female financial advice firm has been recognised for its impact and innovation with a regional business award.
Yorkshire Financial Planning, founded by Caroline Allen and Joanne Baker, was named ‘Small Business of the Year’ at the Goole and Howdenshire Business Excellence Awards, having developed a reputation for offering a boutique advisory service with a focus on financial wellbeing and education.
With just 16 per cent of UK advisers being women, the firm’s inclusive approach and commitment to client-focused support has helped them stand out in a traditionally male-dominated industry.
Caroline Allen, co-owner and director of Yorkshire Financial Planning, said: “We feel really honoured to have won this award and to see our hard work recognised as well as our commitment to our local community.
“Jo and I met in 2007 when we trained to be financial advisers together.
“We always had a clear path in mind in terms of the kind of business we wanted to have.
“Our job is to help clear away the fog that often makes the path to financial freedom so difficult to navigate.
“We now have over 250 clients and we are excited to continue helping them and others secure their financial futures.”
Joanne Baker, co-owner and director, added: “We really weren’t expecting to win so when our names were called, we were absolutely delighted.
“Winning this award means so much to us.
“We would like to thank all of our wonderful clients without whom none of this would be possible.
“We're now eager to build on this success and continue making a meaningful difference.”
