
Modrec packs a punch with launch of new brand
A luggage business is moving into new territory with the launch of a stylish new product range aimed directly at consumers.
Newcastle’s Modrec International has introduced A2B Luggage, its first new brand in 15 years and its first foray in the direct-to-consumer retail market.
Known for supplying major high street retailers and brands such as Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Virgin Airlines and British Airways, the company is now targeting modern travellers with a lifestyle-focused offering that balances design, durability and price.
The launch includes a dedicated e-commerce site and a push across social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram and TikTok.
Lisa Douglas, international director at Modrec, which recently celebrated its 40th anniversary, said: “We’re really excited to be launching this new brand which we have built based on decades of industry experience and knowledge.
“Today’s travellers, whether for business or pleasure, are likely to make a number of trips annually and demand a combination of style and functionality.”
And having successfully navigated their way through the pandemic period, during which most travel stopped, Lisa is now looking forward to building momentum behind the new brand.
She added: “The travel industry suffered terribly during that period, but as a business we’re in the strongest position we’ve ever been in, we’ve invested our own capital into A2B Luggage as we believe it’s a brand that will earn its right as a go-to reliable, good value and long-standing choice in the marketplace.”
