Protein Works boosts board with new hires
Nutrition brand Protein Works has strengthened its C-suite with the appointment of Tom Reece as chief financial officer and the promotion of Kyle Crowley to chief product officer.
Tom joins with a background in private equity and M&A, while Kyle steps up from his previous role in product development, having joined the company in 2017.
Tom said: “There’s a real sense of energy, ambition and ownership at Protein Works.
“It’s a fast-moving, collaborative environment where people are empowered to take responsibility and drive the business forward.
“This is a hugely exciting time when our unbelievable products, customer-centric approach, and new state-of-the-art facility show a clear commitment to scaling, and I’m looking forward to being a part of that journey with Laura and the team.”
Kyle added: “Protein Works has helped me achieve everything I set out to do when I chose nutrition as a career.
“Am I done? Of course not.
“That’s the ethos of this business; we achieve, we celebrate, we move to the next big challenge, and I can’t wait to do that as part of this incredible leadership team at our brand-new PW Campus in Speke.”
The move follows a record-breaking 2024, with revenues surpassing £50 million and a £10 million investment in a new Liverpool campus.
Laura Keir, chief executive of Protein Works, added: “Tom’s experience means he has more than your usual chief financial officer’s view on finance, not just as a reporting function, but as a strategic driver of performance.
“His data and insight-driven approach will help us to prioritise resources, create alignment and enable Protein Works to continue scaling with further efficiency at greater pace.
“Kyle has been a huge part of the Protein Works journey and represents the best of everything we stand for – in short, a relentless pursuit of excellence.
“I still remember Kyle’s email coming out of the blue, as a young lad from Cork who wanted to pursue a career in nutrition and was willing to relocate and do everything possible to make that happen.
“He joined in 2017, when we were a business of just 92 people, and has brought that dedication to work every day since, working his way to the top and being right at the centre of our ever-innovating shake blends.”
