Data-driven certifier seals £500,000 boost
A supply chain certification firm is scaling up after securing major investment.
West Yorkshire-based Supply Chain In-sites (SCI) has received £500,000 from Finance Yorkshire’s growth fund.
Founded in 2021, SCI uses data collection and artificial intelligence to identify supply chain risks faster and encourage best practice, with recent projects spanning Asia and the US.
The firm, whose client list includes Aldi, WHSmith, RSPCA Assured and Grown in Britain, has grown annual revenues by 50 per cent to £1.3 million.
Bosses say the cash will support job creation, international expansion and the development of its real-time technology.
They plan to grow their team from 12 to 50 by 2029.
Rob Chester, chief executive of SCI, who has 25 years’ experience in the grocery sector with brands such as Tesco and Walmart, said: “We have created a great team because we all have experience working on both sides of the table, as a customer of certification bodies and a certification provider.
“This experience has informed our approach to building SCI as a trusted certification partner and a disruptive innovator in supply chain risk management.”
Finance Yorkshire’s investment follows a three-year performance review and forms part of its wider £50 million commitment to supporting regional SMEs by 2027.
Alex McWhirter, chief executive of Finance Yorkshire, added: “SCI is to be congratulated on its achievements to date and its commitment to a substantial growth trajectory.
“The drive to increase its turnover significantly will add to the region’s wealth, as well as creating jobs in Yorkshire in the future.”
