Kapital opens with a bang in Sheffield
A new beer hall and restaurant in Sheffield has officially opened its doors to the public.
Kapital, located on Wellington Street in the city’s £470 million Heart of the City development, welcomed hundreds of visitors across its launch weekend.
The two-floor, 4,500sq ft venue blends European-style dining with cocktails, tank beer and big band performances.
Four striking steel tanks sit above the main bar, filled with unpasteurised Budvar lager, delivered directly from the brewery cellars of South Bohemia.
Kapital’s 34 taps pour a broad mix of European beers, from German staples Paulaner and Löwenbräu, to Belgian favourites Delirium and Kwak, plus crisp pilsners and strong golden ales.
Kapital's opening weekend proved to be a huge success
The venue also features an outdoor beer garden, a restaurant and a private hire space with city views.
Its food menu leans into continental comfort food, including schnitzel, bratwurst, roast pork knuckle and cheese fondue, as well as family-friendly options and Sunday roasts.
Ben Stubbs, Kapital co-founder, said: “It’s been incredible to see Kapital come to life.
“The response since opening has exceeded all our expectations and we are proud to have brought something truly unique to the heart of Sheffield.
“Our vision was to bring something fresh, innovative, and exciting to the area with a truly authentic European drinking and dining destination unlike anything else and it’s been amazing to see customers really loving what we’ve created.”
Kapital is now open seven days a week.
