Pegasus Group hires Urban North founder
Independent development consultancy Pegasus Group has appointed Scott Thompson as senior director of urban design, strengthening its growing Newcastle office.
Scott joins from Urban North, the architecture and urban design business he founded, and brings more than 20 years’ experience delivering major residential schemes for national housebuilders.
His appointment will see him lead a six-strong urban design team supporting clients across the region.
Scott said: “I’m really looking forward to being part of the Pegasus Group, being able to combine my experience and expertise with a full multidisciplinary team and seeing how far we can develop Pegasus Groups urban design influence within the North East housing sector.
“I’m looking forward to exciting times ahead.”
Scott’s appointment comes as Pegasus continues its rapid growth in the North East, with the Newcastle office tripling in size since 2020 and recently relocating to Gainsborough House, in the city centre.
Sandra Manson, executive director and head of the Pegasus Newcastle office, added: “Scott is a fantastic addition to our Newcastle team.
“His vast experience of residential developments across the North East, combined with the talent of our existing team, has created a powerhouse of urban design capability.
“When combined with our full range of services, we offer clients a truly multifaceted approach to delivering their development projects.”
Paul Smith, executive director of urban design at Pegasus, added: “I am pleased to welcome Scott as a senior director to Pegasus Group.
“His experience in the North East is not just a boost for our urban design team in Newcastle, it’s a boost for our overall national business, which is now one of the UK’s largest and most experienced team of urban designers.
“With a fast-evolving environment of new developments in national planning policy and government housebuilding targets, we have the knowledge and experience to advise clients not just in the North East, but across the UK.”
