Sunderland University receives glowing feedback
The University of Sunderland is celebrating standout student feedback in a national survey.
The university has been praised across a wide range of subjects in the 2025 National Student Survey (NSS), with several programmes scoring 100 per cent student satisfaction.
Courses such as physiotherapy, primary education with SEND and game development were among those receiving perfect scores in areas including academic support and freedom of expression.
The university also outperformed the sector average in every survey theme, with highlights including 90.1 per cent positivity for developing skills for the future and 87.1 per cent for assessment and feedback.
Student voices were also recognised, with 91.3 per cent saying they felt able to express their ideas and beliefs.
Sir David Bell, vice-chancellor and chief executive of the university, said: “The NSS is an important indicator as it gives us direct insight into the views and experience of students – and we are very pleased with this year’s results.
“While surveys cannot give us all the information we need, they are important in providing feedback from students, which helps us identify what we do well and highlight areas where we could make improvements.”
Sunderland’s Students’ Union also received an 80.8 per cent positivity rating – 4.8 per cent above the sector average – further reinforcing the university’s student-first approach.
Ade Adeoye, president at Sunderland Students’ Union, added: “The results of this year’s NSS are very positive.
“We have made excellent progress as an organisation in many areas over the past 12 months, and we’re always keen to develop further.
“We look forward to continuing to make the student experience the best it can be, working to achieve this aim alongside the university.”
