Gift wrap supplier 'set for job growth' with new HQ
A luxury gift packaging supplier says it is boxed and bound for job creation after a headquarters expansion.
Glick has moved to a 34,400sq ft Batley site.
Bosses say the Grange Valley Road-based head office and distribution centre will allow the business to create jobs “across all departments over the coming months”.
They add the unit – which is nearly three times larger than a former Bradford hub – will boost sales and export targets.
Founded in Leeds in the 1990s, Glick employs 22 staff and supplies gift wrap, bags and accessories to retailers including John Lewis, Fenwick, Clintons and independent shops and garden centres.
It also exports products across Europe, the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Dubai.
Prior to its move, the firm worked with Wharfedale Property to alter the building’s layout, install new doors and windows, and create office and staff welfare space.
Becky Dobson, managing director, said: “We’d been in our previous building for 15 years, but we’d outgrown it and were renting several external storage units.
“That meant we had more stock outside our own building than in it.
“As soon as we saw this building, we knew it was right for us.
“As well as a vast storage and distribution area, we have offices, first-class amenities for our team and a brilliant product showroom all under one roof.”
The building was jointly marketed by Leeds-based property consultancies GV&Co and Michael Steel & Co, on behalf of Wharfedale Property.
Jonathan Jacob, GV&Co associate director, said: “We are very pleased to have advised Wharfedale Property; the company’s pragmatic approach to these works has created a building that meets Glick's long-term operational requirements.”
