Seaham Hall unveils new dining destination Geko
A Japanese-inspired dining experience has arrived in the North East, offering guests a striking new setting for food, wellness and coastal views.
Seaham Hall, the award-winning five-star hotel and spa located on the Durham coast, has launched Geko, a restaurant that transforms the former Ozone space into a stylish hub for Asian fusion dining.
Open to spa visitors, hotel guests and the wider community, it promises bold flavours and carefully crafted small and large plates.
Located within the Serenity Spa, Geko’s menu is designed with balance in mind, complementing both wellness retreats and relaxed evening dining.
Guests can expect dishes such as karaage, kushiyaki, ramen and donburi, alongside curated cocktails, all served with a focus on fresh northern ingredients and Japanese flair.
The restaurant’s interiors take inspiration from Eastern design, with dark woods, statement lighting and an eye-catching willow tree feature that sets the tone for both theatre and tranquillity.
A newly refurbished terrace also offers one of the region’s most scenic outdoor dining spots, perfect for cocktails and sharing plates overlooking the Durham coast.
Damian Broom, executive chef at Seaham Hall, said: “Our vision for Geko was to create more than just a restaurant; we’ve created a new experience.
“Geko celebrates bold Japanese flavours while staying true to our ethos of indulgence and extraordinary hospitality.
“From the finest Northern ingredients sourced from the region to the boldest flavours and twists, the menu at Geko is set to surprise and delight with something for everyone.”
Geko is open daily for spa guests and evening diners, with bookings available via the Seaham Hall website.
