RMT appoints head of corporate finance
RMT Accountants & Business Advisors has named Michael McCulloch as its new head of corporate finance and appointed him to the firm’s board of directors.
Michael, a qualified FCA with nearly 20 years of experience, joins from a leading North East practice where he advised on UK and cross-border deals across multiple sectors.
In his new role, he will oversee deal execution, team development and the growth of RMT’s advisory services, working with owner-managed and growth-stage businesses.
Michael said: “RMT is making a strategic investment in its corporate finance capabilities and it’s an incredibly exciting time for me to be joining the business to lead this growth.
“Our market approach will focus on supporting existing clients, many of whom are preparing for investment, appraising bolt-on opportunities or looking at succession planning.
“We are aiming to build an advisory service that reflects the needs of those regional businesses and helps them prepare for key decisions that will shape their future.
“The wider corporate advisory market continues to show strong activity across the North East.
“RMT is putting itself in a great position to take advantage of this and is assembling a specialist team with extensive deals experience to meet this demand.”
Founded in 1954, RMT is part of the Sumer Group and provides a full range of accountancy and advisory services.
Stephen Slater, managing director at RMT Accountants & Business Advisors, adds: “Michael brings proven technical capability and commercial insight to his new role and will set a clear direction for how we see our corporate finance offering developing in the future.
“We’re investing in bringing in the expertise we need to support our growth plans across all our service lines and to ensure we have the expertise required to meet the personal and commercial ambitions of our growing client base.”
